I created Sanctuary for Seeds, my BFA senior thesis show in 2002. This piece was installed in a quiet corner of the Lemp Brewery gallery space where it blended into its surroundings. A wooden crate filled with goose down housed an elaborately woven aluminum mesh basket form of a child. Four photographic diptychs comparing my mother’s house in St. Louis, MO and my father’s house in Centralia, IL lined one wall while a trail of false unicorn seedpods led from the window to the wooden crate. |
