Dutch Elm Disease was installed as part of Art Saint Louis’ Forces of Nature exhibition in 2007. In this piece, fabric leaves were arranged on the floor around a void where the trunk would have once been. "Help" was hand-written on each leaf in permanent marker. This piece was created in part to mourn the death of my own tree. This piece was recreated in Feb. 2009 at the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri's Lorimier Gallery.
