I was born in Centralia, Illinois on July 9, 1977 and moved to St. Louis, Missouri when I was five years old.

I graduated from Parkway North High School in 1995 and began an undergraduate art degree in fiber at the Kansas City Art Institute, where I studied for two years.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art, Alternative Media from Webster University, graduating with departmental honors in May 2002.
